Independence with a purpose

By driving with Life Couriers as an independent contractor in the US, you’ll be delivering essential medical supplies that patients and healthcare providers rely on every day.

Your reliability helps ensure treatments are on time, lives are supported, and care never stops. This is independence with a purpose.

How to apply

Please read the important information below, and then proceed to apply accordingly.

It is important that you read all this information, as it outlines the requirements we have for all our independent contractors. Our application process is also explained, step-by-step.

DISCLAIMER: Independent courier contracting is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme! Popular videos by “courier gurus” found on social media sites like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube often misrepresent typical earnings as an independent contractor courier. Commissions are dependent on a contractor’s readiness to accept available routes and/or on-demand orders. Limited availability to accept routes due to other time commitments will limit a courier’s order acceptance rate and will drastically diminish their earning potential. Contractors with the most open availability are among the highest earning couriers in our delivery network.

What is a 1099 Independent Contractor?

Independent contractors are self-employed and in business for themselves. You are responsible for all the expenses incurred in your business operations. Life Couriers will NOT be your employer, and you will NOT be “hired” on. We contract with independent couriers to provide delivery services to our customers on our behalf. Courier contractors who have an active LLC and EIN (employer identification number) will be given preference to contract over those who do not own a business and EIN. To maximize your potential as a courier, we strongly recommend that you create a legal entity (LLC, Corporation, S-Corp) before submitting your details to us. Most U.S. states offer tutorials on how to create a legal entity directly on the secretary of state website.

What are your requirements?

Review ALL the qualifications listed in the solicitation – paying special attention to the zip code and vehicle type in the “Requirements for Contract” section. Be sure you have the availability sought to make the deliveries during those times listed.

I don’t see an available contract opportunity in my area…

We currently service around 30 U.S. states and new markets are added periodically. If you’d like to be contacted when new opportunities in your area arise, please fill out our Courier Driver Lead Submission Form with details regarding your courier qualifications and we will reach out at the moment we have an available contract near you.

What is the process and how long does it take?

Our process takes 2-5 days to contract, and most couriers finish all enrollment and contracting tasks within 3 days. NOTE: if you fail to finish the below steps in a timely manner, we will simply remove you from process in favor of the next interested contractor.

  • Step 1: Be sure you’ve read the entire contract description; letter by letter (~5 minutes)
  • Step 2: If you qualify, click one of the links in the description to complete the Prescreening Questionnaire and then one of the links for the Full Contracting Enrollment on our third-party partner website called Openforce (~15-20 minutes)
  • Step 3: Allow us to review your submission. Note: we receive hundreds of submissions per week and we follow up in the order they are received
  • Step 4: If you qualify on paper, we will put you in contact with our fleet operations manager to discuss your fit for the contract
  • Step 5: With approval for next steps, we provide you with online contractor preparation modules. This includes HIPAA and Bloodborne-Pathogen, among others (~90 mins or less)
  • Step 6: Submit to a background and driving record screening and leave your sample at an assigned partner clinic near your home zip code.  You then start providing service if all clear
