Build the global air cargo capability our patients rely on

About us

Life Couriers is a purpose-driven logistics company specialized in healthcare and life science transportation. We make sure critical medical shipments reach their destination safely, reliably, and on time. Our work has a real impact, every day.

We combine operational excellence with a strong team culture, short decision paths, and a clear focus on the patient at the end of every delivery, as we grow our international organization.

Your role

We already have air cargo expertise in parts of our network. What we need now is one global capability. You are the builder: you design the strategy, structure, processes, and team that let Life Couriers work with airlines as one company, in every region and for every business unit. You bring our existing expertise together and take it further. This is a senior role with real weight in the market. You report to the COO.

What you will do

  • Build the global air cargo strategy and operating model, and turn the expertise we have across our network into one global capability
  • Design and put in place common processes, tools, and reporting for air bookings, carrier management, and airline spend, with one view across the group
  • Establish and own our relationships with airlines and carriers at global level, and negotiate capacity, rates, and service agreements
  • Move our teams from working locally to working as one global team, with shared standards and ways of working
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the air cargo and airline relations team, and decide where each capability should sit
  • Work with the business units to design air solutions for pharmaceutical, radiopharmaceutical, and other time-critical shipments
  • Work with the Quality team to make sure air shipments meet dangerous goods and pharmaceutical transport standards

What you bring

  • 15+ years in air cargo, air freight, or airline roles, including 8+ years in a senior leadership position
  • Proven builder: you have set up or transformed a global or multi-region air cargo or airline relations function, not only run one
  • Experience bringing locally managed teams and ways of working onto one global model
  • Strong, established relationships with airlines, handlers, or forwarders, and the credibility to negotiate rates and terms at senior level
  • Deep knowledge of air cargo operations, IATA dangerous goods rules, and pharmaceutical air freight standards
  • Experience in time-critical, healthcare, or life science logistics is a strong plus
  • Fluent English; German, French, or Dutch/Flemish is a plus

Why join us

  • Purpose: your network helps life-saving shipments reach patients
  • A new group-wide role with a clear mandate: build the function, don’t just run it
  • Direct line to the COO and the freedom to shape the function
  • An international team that moves fast and wants to win
