Life Couriers is proud to have been a key supporter of an awareness event at the Kalida Cancer Rehab Centre in Barcelona, Spain.
Taking place on Saturday 4th October 2025, the invite-only event coincided with the annual EANM conference and welcomed over 60 guests from the European radiopharma sector. Organized by Oncia Community, a Belgium-based foundation which provides holistic non-clinical support for cancer patients, the afternoon was centred on fostering communication and showcasing the ways that Kalida provides meaningful support for cancer patients and their families.
A shared vision for the future of cancer treatment
Joining forces with IBA, Curium, IRE and other key figures from the world of nuclear medicine, Life Couriers’ support began with a drinks reception on arrival for attendees. Held in the picturesque grounds of the Kalida Centre, this became the backdrop for inspiring talks from Joan Reventós (Director, Kalida), Olivier Legrain (CEO, IBA), Francoise Vamecq (Co-Founder and Managing Director, Oncia Community), and the renowned architect of the facility, Benedetta Tagliabue.
Attendees then enjoyed a tour of the Kalida facility led by Benedetta Tagliabue, who discussed how seeing the impact of cancer treatment first-hand informed her design philosophy for the Kalida building.
The event offered the perfect forum to discuss a shared vision for the future, where cancer treatment is more effective, accessible, and which prioritizes the comfort and needs of the patient.

Kalida Foundation
First established in 2016, the Kalida Foundation is dedicated to providing and promoting “complementary person-centred comprehensive cancer support”, offering practical, emotional and social support for cancer patients and their families.
Kalida’s first support centre opened its doors in 2019, situated between the historic Sant Pau Hospital (now a UNESCO heritage site) and the new Hospital de la Santa Creu in Barcelona. Since then, through strategic partnership with international cancer support charity, Maggie’s, Kalida have helped enrich the lives of cancer patients and their families, offering a welcoming space and dedicated support workers.
In 2024 alone, the Kalida Foundation received 11,345 visits and helped 2,127 people receive support, counselling and guidance on their cancer journey. Continuing the legacy of the Maggie’s cancer charity, this help and support is always provided free of charge and requires no prior booking, meaning that care is provided in a way that fits around their schedule.
